Introducing GE's 3.4-137 for Ontario
The right technology for your project
Our 3MW platform has a medium voltage stator rated at 6kV. The MV output of the 3MW platform turbine is the key enabler for a cost-efficient and enhanced electrical system design of a wind farm electrical balance of plant with a non-standard collection system voltage.
To improve the power collection efficiency in high power wind parks, this design proposes to move higher voltage buses closer to the single wind turbines. Additionally, this would allow an optimal placement of each wind turbine cluster in the geographical landscape.
The additional value is created by an approximate ~1% increase in farm electrical efficiency, and a significant reduction in turbine and farm electrical material costs.
Within the 3WM platform, the 3.4-137 produces 14.52 MWh at 7.5 m/s average wind speed—up to 24% higher output than previous versions. Other features include:
- A blade designed for more efficient production in low wind conditions.
- A sound power level of 106 db(A), with reduced noise modes available.
- Controls that reduce extreme loads (including those near rated wind speeds) to improve annual energy production (AEP).
- Grid-friendly options with enhanced data and analytics, like farm level controls and WindSCADA.
- Digital solutions that increase your turbine’s value over its lifetime.
