LM Wind Power | Unleashing limitless energy
In 2015, 50% of all new electricity capacity additions were from renewable sources, with wind representing 35% of that growth. Our goal is to bring to each local region, wind turbines that maximize electricity output while reducing the cost of that electricity. How are we doing so?
As of April 2017, GE has completed the acquisition of LM Wind Power, a leading independent supplier of rotor blades to the wind industry. By in-sourcing wind turbine blade design and manufacturing for GE Renewable Energy, we improve our ability to increase energy output while reducing the cost of electricity to create more value for our customers.
GE’s goal is to bring affordable, sustainable energy to the world.

LM Wind Power
a GE Renewable Energy Business
LM Wind Power is at the forefront of innovation with more than 195,000 blades produced since 1978, enabling 84GW of installed wind capacity, and an annual saving of more than 166 million tons of carbon dioxide.
GE and LM Wind Power have a long-standing partnership that has yielded many innovations and commercial successes. For our existing GE customers, together we can offer higher performing, more productive wind turbines, while continuing to reduce the cost of energy and improve returns on their investments.
We are equally committed to maintaining and growing LM Wind Power’s business with non GE customers. To all this we will add our emerging digital capabilities, enabling us to push for unprecedented levels of efficiency and value for our customers. LM Wind Power will be run as an individual operating unit within GE Renewable Energy, having established protocols and safeguards to protect customers’ confidential data.
